I've got no problems with The Second Cup, as ubiquitous in Toronto as Tim Hortons or Starbucks, but more convenient than the former (which only takes Mastercard or cash) and less obnoxious than the latter. Free wifi in a city that Bogarts this commodity like whoa is a major plus. This location is convenient to downtown and is open when earlier than most other coffee shops (I visited before 9 a.m. on the Sunday before Thanksgiving).
The coffee is quite good and the baked goods are just fine. The staff are friendly enough, the seats are comfortable, and the place is clean. When not supporting your local indie coffee shop, I say go for it!
