| - Well run facility off the strip close to the Encore. We made an appointment for my daughters 13th birthday for herself, her sister and a couple friends for Sunday night. We arrived a few minutes before our 3:45 scheduled arrival time and was greeted with smiles. Waiting a few minutes until our instructor was available, we walked up to the "flight deck" to watch others indoor skydive.
The round, cylinder shaped room for "sky diving" is padded on the walls and outer edges of the room, while the middle of the floor is a wire grate, the actual method of skydiving is what appears to be a super powered plane engine under the metal grate that propels you upwards into the air by powerful wind force.
After watching the safety video and listening to the instructor, the kids were outfitted in their flight suits and helmets. I returned to the observatory deck while the party goers followed the instructor to the skydive area.
Once inside, they take turns standing or jumping out from the padded area over the metal grate area, over the huge plane engine that pushes the skydiver up, with aide from the instructor.
We rented 30 minutes for 5 people which doesn't sound like a lot, but ended up being more than enough time. Skydiving takes focus and flexibility and is a bit of a workout. It's also pretty hot inside the skydive room.
30 minutes is $550, not cheap, but everyone thought it was a great experience, a unique way to celebrate a bday.
The instructors at Las Vegas Indoor Skydive were friendly, knowledgable and accommodating. Highly recommend for a fun time.
