| - Another awesome day for some shredding w/ good friends. Besides the typical amazing service we usually get from just about everyone, we had the usual unpleasant service from the same chair lift operator.
Unfortunately I did NOT want to say anything last wk when we were there, but twice is enough. And esp bc it's from the same person w/ their same bad attitude. My friends and I are beginner snowboarders so of course getting off the chair lift is quite the obstacle esp if its a small chair and faster than the others. We all usually sit separately on this specific lift bc it's so small and then whoever is ahead of the other will ask the operator to slow it down by giving them the "thumbs down" signal as soon as we are visible to them and are able to make any kind of warning/contact. I gave her the benefit of the doubt this time, and put aside how she treated us last wk and put aside the comment she made to my friend last wk (we were coming up close enough to set up to take off the chair and she was sitting on a stool outside of the operator's booth and my friend gave her the "thumbs down" to slow it down and she seemed to ignore us and pretend like she didn't see us...I thought ok maybe she didn't see us but we kept yelling and asking her to slow it down then at the last min before it was too late she ran inside to slow it down. Then she said to my friend "you have to tell me ahead of time next time, or tell the guys down at the bottom and they can call me n tell me".......
Was she serious?!!!!!! Isn't it part of her job to be paying attention to people coming up and respecting us not being sure of ourselves?? What if I was having a seizure or a heart attack and I was tying to warn her?!!!
Well, that wasn't the case so I just dust it under the rug.
So today, it was a new day. I let it go and believed the day would be different and maybe she just had a bad day last wk. The first few runs were fine, we were having a great time as usual. Everyone was pleasant and sincerely nice. When we came up the lift on the same operator, I cringed seeing her up there. All of our group who r beginners asked her to slow for us and she acknowledged us w/ grace and we all each thanked her nicely each and every time as we each got of the lift. I even went out of my way to say "thank u my dear" just to maybe break the ice and really, I was TRULY grateful of her caring for our needs. After a few runs she was pretty nice and slowed when we asked. A few times though, I felt like she was doing her usual, pretending she didn't see us and purposely ignoring us but she still did what we asked, and slowed it down. It always seems like she had "better things to do than slow it for us beginners"
She was raking the snow in front of where u eot off the chair (totally understandable, I'm sure that's part of her job) So I ignored it but still, her attitude started to "boil" it seemed. And we all felt like we were a "nuisance" to her. We felt like we were burdening her by asking her to slow it down. I just ignored it AGAIN......
Then on our very last run which was close to closing time, we all went up separately. My bf was ahead of me 2 chairs and my friend between us. He asked her to slow it down for himself and for the 2 behind him (my friend, then myself)
SHE ROLLED HER EYES AND SHOOK HER HEAD AND SAID "NO YOU'VE BEEN GOING SLOW ALL DAY"
She didn't slow it for him. My friend between us asked her to slow n she said "u'll be fine" then when I got close I put my thumb down and asked her to slow it and she said "u'll be fine, u'll be ok"
We all got off and just were dumbfounded!!!!! We couldn't believe it. What is it with her. Terrible!!!!
Wether or not if I am a professional or not, isn't it part of her job duties to attend to our needs???? That was completely unnecessary for her to act in that manner. And esp at the end of the day when we had such a great time overall. She has always been the one person out of the whole resort to treat us like that. All the other operators are genuinely nice enough to care to our requests and needs. Every other operator that I've asked to slow it down, will ask me if it was slow enough or if I was ok and/or listen to us. Why is the one person who happens to be the only female operator that I've ever seen there, the most unpleasant person??? She ruins our trip there every time unfortunately. And we are locals, this is our place to enjoy the snow and ski and board, but with service like hers, it is my ONLY complaint. Ernie at the bar is always a pleasure and totally awesome. Everyone smiles and is sincerely pleasant. Except for the one lift operator.
I made a complaint to their "mgr" as we left. It wasn't "official" bc no statement was taken and they said they would let the "operator mgr" know. I hope something will change and we won't have to deal with this again. It is unfortunate bc this is our backyard playground and we should all be able to enjoy it pleasantly.
