| - I visited this Spa with my sister. We both booked the 50-minute pure bliss massage online. We were told to get to the spa 30 minutes prior to allow ample amount of time to check in. When we got to the front desk, the woman helping us was extremely slow and seemed as if she had never checked anyone in before. She seemed nervous and disheveled and it took a while to check us in, (no wonder they tell you to come 30 minutes prior!) We finally got checked in, and were given robes/shoes and shown to the locker/changing area. We then waited in the lounge for our massage therapists. A plus about this place is that the lounge is stocked with fresh fruit, water, and juices.
When we were called in by the massage therapists, my sister and I both had completely different experiences. The woman that massaged me did a good job, she used a hot towel on my back, even massaged my neck/face/scalp. She didn't speak much at all, which I liked because a massage is supposed to be relaxing and peaceful. The woman who massaged my sister did not stop talking throughout the massage, and did not use a hot towel or massage her neck/face/scalp. I felt I got my money's worth, my sister on the other hand, was really disappointed.
I guess in a situation like this, you never really know what you're going to get because each massage therapist works individually. If you do decide to go here, when you book your reservation, make sure you specify the areas of your body you want massaged, and that you don't care to hear about the therapist's life story!
I understand that not everyone leaves a tip and that's probably why they automatically charge you a 20% tip upfront, but it also makes it unfair for guests like my sister who didn't feel her massage was worth that much of a tip. Perhaps they should think about re-vamping this somehow..
