My husband and I went to the nursery to browse their selection of large box trees. We found a great tree and spent $750 on it with delivery expected in two weeks. When we excitedly got home to flag where the tree should be planted we were saddened to see it would grow into the overhead power line to our house.
We called the store about 2 hours after leaving and explained our situation. We asked if the sale could be refunded until we could have the utility company bury our power line. The manager Ken told us there would be a 15% cancellation fee. Despite the fact that the tree was still sitting in the same place on their lot where they tagged it two hours earlier and they'd lost no money or manpower on the sale, he refused to refund the full amount. We've spent thousands on our yard and were going to spend another $750 there today. After this experience, Moon Valley collected a $110 fee without earning it, but lost thousands in future sales on the rest of our yard's refurbishing.
In reading the customer reviews, it seems that this location has an ongoing problem with customer service. Hopefully someone at the district level remedies this. The plants are great, the service is not.
