  • If you want to spend any time at all in your hotel room during the day, this is not the hotel for you. They market it as a relaxing, resort-like "home away from home"... It was absolutely none of these things. In fact, it was the complete opposite. My husband and I stayed here for 8 days because he had a conference to attend, therefore I did not have much to do during the day and spent most of my time in our room, trying to do some work myself. The entire stay was ruined by the incredibly loud music that they play at the Flamingo pool next door (and I mean a full DJ setup with enormous speakers). At one point the bass was so loud that it was vibrating the bed as I was sitting in it, and we were on the 8th floor. Not only where we never interested in this property's Grand Vacation options (we only stayed here because it was literally the only available Hilton option when we booked), but we would DEFINITELY never consider it after staying here because of the music. Another major problem that we found with this location is that there are no amenities. At the very least we expected there to be a restaurant on site, however the most you could get was a deli type food option from their mishmash store/deli/coffee shop downstairs, or basic room service (which also came from said deli shop... And don't order the fries). Although the on-site pool is a joke in both size and appearance, the hotel does at least allow you to attend the Flamingo pool if you are a VIP guest. However, the music at the Flamingo pool and their extremely strict rules about how you may dress and what you could bring in to the pool area made it unappealing to go there at all. Housekeeping was inconsistent at best. Some days they were very prompt in making sure to call us to ask if we would like housekeeping that day, because when they came by the do not disturb sign was on the door. Other days they would come by extremely late in the afternoon, no call, and I would wonder if they were coming at all or if I missed the call while in the shower. When they would call, I would give them a time during which I would be out of the room (because, again, I was working and preferred not to be interrupted). Sometimes they showed up promptly at the time they agreed to, and other days I would spend over 1.5 hours out of the room, only to come back multiple times, each time finding that no one had come by and eventually calling to cancel housekeeping for the day. I will give this property credit on two points, the first being their maintenance staff. When we arrived, our shower head worked so poorly that I was unable to get the conditioner out of my hair because the pressure was so low that I was basically showering in mist (although to be fair, what kind of staff are they if they leave rooms in disrepair like that in the first place?). After putting in a request with maintenance, not only did they come promptly and specifically when we requested, but they also fixed another problem with the shower that we did not realize was a design flaw (the shower door opened inward, making water go everywhere when you tried to start the shower before getting in-- it was either soak the floor or stand in the shower itself and let the cold water hit you while getting it started). The second point would be that the management does at least know about the outrageous music issue-- when we asked to be moved on the 5th day of our stay because the music had been so bad that day that I nearly had a meltdown, the staff was happy to move us to the north tower where the speakers do not point to (and it was therefore supposed to be quieter there... It was not, and we packed up our stuff to move rooms for nothing, plus it put us a LOT further from the entrance, aka a longer walk). At least they tried, and they credited us with money to spend at the deli/market and with Hilton points... But there is only so much they can do to try to make up for the awful hotel they work that. Lastly, the combo of the disgusting Vegas hard water and their sandpaper towels have left my skin in agony (worst eczema I've had since I was a teenager) and my husband's skin, which is not at all sensitive, has sprouted irritation hives. I have been home for a week now and my skin irritation has only gotten worse. I may end up needing to go to the dermatologist. I would not stay here again if you paid me to, and trust me when I say that we basically begged the Tropicana to take us (but unfortunately they were still full-- plus since this is a HGV property, it isn't "connected" like other Hilton properties and we wouldn't have been able to transfer our pre-paid stay elsewhere without getting in touch with the Hilton Diamond Desk... But at least the Tropicana gave us a free cookie for our suffering.
