I was really excited to see a traditional Chinese bakery open up in my neighbourhood, especially next to my family's favourite restaurant. It has only been a soft opening and I'm not sure how well they will do. I went in on Thursday night around 8pm and their shelves were still full of bread. My husband and I bought a chicken bun and a pineapple bun. It came up to $3.05. Pretty expensive, especially since it was the end of the night and they weren't offering any sort of discounts. A chicken pie was $2.00 and an egg tart for $1.30. They had boxes of prepackaged cookies for ~$10. At a Chinese bakery, these prices are pretty up there. Until they get more business, I would suggest that they offer more discounts or something in order to attract customers. At this rate, they will not last for long.
However, with all that being said, we both did enjoy our buns. They were still very soft and we would likely go back if we were really having a hankering for Chinese buns and didn't want to drive further to a more well known bakery like Lucullus.
