Worst customer service in a store in my life. Think Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. The man who claimed to be the owner sat behind a desk in the back register area, not even looking up when my mom and I came into this quiet small shop mid week. We were the ONLY customers in there during a 30 to 40 minute time period. No greeting and almost seemed annoyed by our presence, despite us quietly complimenting some of the pieces. We found a table we liked but one leg was broken. We had to ask twice for the man to come help us before he got up to attend and again seemed very bothered to have had to stand up and walk the few feet over . He was extremely rude and asked us what we wanted. We asked him if he thought the leg was broken or perhaps the floor was uneven and that was why the table was unbalanced. He said "it's not the floor": I responded "so it's the table " and he awkwardly nodded and walked away. We looked around some more then decided to come back for the table but ask for $5 off for the broken leg. Again he did not get up from his seat behind counter in the back. We asked for help and he was even more rude this time. We told him we wanted to buy this table and another and could we get a discount for the leg. He said no, very harshly, picked up the table and pointed to the door and kicked us out. I asked for the owner and he said he was it.
I can't imagine any owner running a business like this...I'm guessing he was lying or he is using the store as a front for something and has no interest in selling antiques. He did seem disabled, spoke with muffled voice, maybe he had a frontal lobe stroke, I cannot think of any other logical reason for such insane behavior. He seemed seriously mentally ill. Either way, I am not giving my business or money to anyone who doesn't want it and treats customers as a nuisance. How is this store still standing ?! Crazy.
