| - I just got my first tattoo here, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out, and the experience I had at Pearl Harbour. Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and welcoming, and there was none of the typical pretentious attitude that I've come to expect from tattoo/piercing shops.
I dropped by after lunch on Saturday to try to grab a walk-in, and Glennie greeted me in a super friendly way and instantly made me feel like she was going to do her best to make me feel comfortable there.
Like I said, this is my first tattoo so I had no idea about the pain, the process, placement, size, etc. and she was very accommodating to my questions and made sure that I was satisfied with the answers before we moved on.
She made sure that the size of what I wanted fit the location I was having it put onto, and had me triple check the stencil before we got started. She explained everything very well, and she didn't make me feel at all silly for being nervous. She was very gentle during the process and just kept me talking to keep my mind off the pain.
After we were finished, she cleaned up, explained my aftercare and invited me to drop back or call if I had any additional questions. She is very professional, talented, and really knows how to make a person feel comfortable in a new environment.
Overall, I'd really recommend this place - especially for newbies! You're nervous enough already, and you don't need to worry about someone judging you for your inexperience. You certainly won't experience anything like that here - just nice people wanting to do nice work for you.
