| - I give the hotel three stars for the pool area, rooftop lounge area, the theme of the hotel, and the potential to be a 5 star place. However, they lack customer service and upkeep of the building. The staff has no desire to fix issues or resolve customer complaints. Even the supervisors are rude and want nothing but to charge you for every little thing. They act like they care about your suggestions and concerns but they really dont, and that's just sad..also they need to take better care of the building. Definitely updating some areas of the hotel would help them tremendously. Regardless of these issues, I will continue to stay here because it's cheaper than most places and I like being a little bit away from the strip, but still close enough to take Uber or Lyft and only be about 5-15 mins depending on traffic. One more thing I would like to see be improved is the food selection. The selection is pretty poor:/ I end up going somewhere outside of the hotel to eat cuz nothing appeals to me as far as restaurants in the Rio go. It's all overpriced for shitty food, sorry but that's just my opinion. Bottom line: don't expect too much from the Rio. Just a decent place to stay, spacious rooms, clean, rooms don't smell, and the pool is really fun, and the only area throughout the whole hotel where service is substantial.
