This downtown Phoenix salon is a hidden gem as there are several on Vernon ave. This salon took over its previous residents and has been open for the last 8 months. Unfortunately, finding it may be challenging because the GPS may lead you through the wrong side of Vernon ave which is a dead end. Make sure to enter Vernon Ave from Central ave. The parking lot is limited however there is street parking.
The first time I came in was for a gel manicure with Melisa. She is a doll and so talented. She can do anything you ask - she is truly an artist with her brush. She is the only nail tech there and you can text her for an appointment. She's so nice and flexible.
For my second appointment, I called in for full color/balayage. I got their answering machine, left my name and number and I was called back within 5 minutes! Their hair stylist, Marci called me and she happened to get a cancellation that morning so she was able to take me in the next 45 mins; I was so pleased. Let me tell you, my entire experience with her was nothing but wonderful from start to finish. I told her exactly what I was thinking and she had some suggestions of what she thought would look best so I trusted her judgement. And she was so right! On top of that, she was a pleasure to spend 1.5 hours with. Not at all one of those stylists who just make small talk with you then stay silent and awkward. It was totally like hanging with a girl friend. The owner, Sam who is the aesthetician was there at the time and she is also so sweet and engaging. The icing on the cake was that I absolutely love what Marci did with my hair. I wanted my old highlights to be covered and to blend in a subtle bayalage and she did exactly that. Oh, and prices are very reasonable. I've been to tons of salons around the valley throughout the years but Studio 6 has become my new favorite salon, hands down.
