  • One star for beating Newegg's price meaning I didn't have to struggle for a price match. One star for being in and out within 20 minutes. No more stars. I went to buy a motherboard after the one that was shipped to me by another company was DOA. I found the motherboard I was looking for,however because their motherboard in stock was built April 2014 I knew it would not be compatible out of the box with my processor. A certain update needed to occur before I could use my brand new processor with this motherboard. Knowing that the alternative would be to buy a completely unnecessary part and then return it after we did the update, my boyfriend asked them if they could just do the update to t he motherboard in store. Saving us a purchase of an unnecessary item, saving us a return trip to Fry's for returning it, and long term, saving Fry's money so they don't have to re-sell an item as "open box". And also meaning they cared about their customers. Did they? No. Thats right, had I not known this caveat to the motherboard, I would have gone home, troubleshooted for about 4 hours and then gone right back to Frys. But even knowing what I knew aboutthis part and the necessary update, they were not willing to do the right thing and have this motherboard ready to go out of the box. The result? Well we will be visiting frys again tonight to return the un-needed part as planned. I avoid places like these like the plague. The store employees are not knowledgeable, the cashiers are rude and nearly did not let my boyfriend purchase the products because it was my credit card, and bottom line had no interest in saving us or their own company money and time. See ya later, Fry's.
