| - Background
I took my 2010 Chevy Camaro in for a smog inspection, it had a check engine light on. The smog test proved to hold 3 error codes: P0008 and P0009 (3rd one cant recall). These two codes deal with the engine position system performance of banks 1 & 2. After a failed smog inspection on my 123k mile Camaro RS, my husband and I were instructed by the smog station to seek repairs at one of the authorized, listed repair shops. I had previously loved the work by Chevy (last name unknown) at Purrfect Auto on Fort Apache just south of Flamingo. So when we chose repairs this time around we went for something nearby to our home and not the Chevrolet in town because I've found them to be greedy and dishonest.
Initial Business & Quote
Purrfect Auto on Allen Lane had good reviews and when we went in initially the gentleman, Corey, was prompt, understanding, knowledgeable, and expedited our experience. He quickly called us with a diagnosis less than 2.5 hours later and a quote to repair. The quote was for $1300, to be paid In full before repairs began. After speaking to many of our mechanic friends, they agreed that was a perfectly fair price and we authorized repairs to move forward that day (Tuesday).
Repairs
Corey and Torrey went straight to work on my vehicle. We touched base with one another throughout the repairs process. They called to offer insight to the current repairs and even recommended other repairs they saw might be beneficial to the cars performance; we also called to confirm that repairs were still in line with the timeline discussed initially. Though we declined further repairs due to trading the Camaro in in the next 6 months or less, we have no doubt in their ability to have handled the job just as efficiently and to our blessing. I jumped in one day to grab some personal items from my vehicle and Torrey went above and beyond to show me my car torn open and discuss what they were doing and why they recommended further repair. I truly enjoyed that extra bit of customer service. As a woman, it feels nice to be involved in car repairs and Torrey talking with me made me feel like he was being honest and open. When I or my husband called during repairs, Corey knew our names every phone call. Seems simple, but it's a great piece of customer service that often goes unnoticed. Finally, the work they performed on the car was definitely laborious and dirty. It was no easy task, and I commend them for the reasonable pricing, the speed of the turnaround back into my hands, and their professionalism once again.
Final Repairs
We are very happy with the final product. My check engine light is off and runs more smoothly. I used to hear a clicking sound and I no longer do. They replaced my timing belt and though I heard some new sound, my husband advised me that it will go away with some miles out onto the car. I received my car back at the close of business on Saturday. For the amount of work they did, plus still accommodating day to day work drop ins and other vehicles in the shop, I believe this is more than an acceptable timeline. When I returned to pick up the Camaro, again Corey and Torrey were totally on it: fast, engaging, and aided me in getting home to family ASAP. Part of the agreement, as offered by Cory in the total pricing, was My car was to have a final smog performed by Purrfect auto after the repairs. When I returned days later, Thursday, to ensure enough mileage went on the car, I was as attempting to walk in and join the line, but Torrey recognized me and told me to drive on back. Needless to say I had my smog, completed, passed, and for free in under 8 minutes. Impressive. When I was about to leave, Corey came out and greeted me, which was a wonderful touch.
My husband and I are very satisfied with every aspect of our experience with Purrfect auto, especially Torrey and Corey. It's hard to find honest, trust worthy and hardworking mechanics these days. I mean my goodness they put the big wig Chevrolet dealership to shame.
ONLY NEGATIVE: they suggested my car would be returned to me either Thursday or Friday, and I got it back Saturday. Would most people be upset probably, but I got to drive my husbands Raptor, so I didn't care a bit ;)
We will return and soon with a new baby!!
Very Thankful,
Supnicks
PS they have lots of low stars from YEARS ago. Probably under new management and team now, don't be fooled by old publicity.
