I stopped by here this past Saturday with my wife for drinks. Eleventh Hour had been on my Yelp bookmarks for a while now and so what better time to try it than after doing Lawrenceville's Joy of Cookies Tour. We arrived to the brewery at around 3 PM to find it about 3/4 of the way full. The inside of Eleventh Hour is actually quite large with a bar on one side that sits around 20 with tables behind that and then some high top seats along the window looking out to Charlotte St. You are also able to check out their brewing equipment through cut outs behind the bar which is also sort of cool.
On this day I decided to go with a couple of beers as I often do whenever I visit a new brewery. They don't have an official flight here although you can order 4.75 ounce samplers of their beer at $2.50 a pop. I decided to try 4 of them and went with the Burning Phoenix Jalepeno (pale ale with jalepenos), lost orbit (NZ Pale Ale), Hidden Hammer (IPA) and finally the Sinister Crow (Black IPA). The first beer that I tried was the burning Phoenix which the menu mentioned was the most polarizing due to the 120 lbs of jalepenos in it. Even though I love spicy food, I generally hate it in beer and this time was no exception. It gave off an aroma of fresh jalepenos and left enough heat in my mouth to make me somewhat uncomfortable. Thankfully the rest of the beers ended up being pretty good. The NZ Pale was bright and juicy while the IPA had a great citrus taste. Last but certainly not least was the Black IPA which starts out pretty smooth but finishes with the taste of a dark beer that could surprise you at 8.1% ABV.
The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Eleventh Hour Brewing has a nice space in Lawrenceville and I enjoyed all of the beers that I had here except for the Jalepeno pale ale.
