We went to this hotel to visit our daughter who is staying there during her flight attendant training.
Never, in all of my 50+ years of travelling, have I ever encountered such rude front desk staff.
Yes we are Anglos and they are Francophones but the rudeness exceeded even that of the notorious Montreal French cabbies.
It was on Saturday afternoon April 15. Yes it was Easter weekend but it was a non busy time for them. All that we were trying to do was pay the $12 for parking the 30 minutes that we had been there. You have to pay for parking at a machine in the lobby. The machine was broken with an 8.5x11 hand printed sign stating that fact. I went to the desk and asked how could I pay...."there are two machines" was the French lady's response. So I walk back to the front door, found the other machine and it too had a "broken" sign on it. How these 2 employees could not have known that both machines, at the main exit, were broken, is baffling. So back to the desk I go....French lady shrugged ....French guy asks a manager who happened to be walking by what he should do. It took 5 minutes to pay and yet I still could not get a pass. I had to buzz the front desk from the exit gate of the parking lot.
Truly a mickey mouse operation that Sheraton should be ashamed of and fix immediately with some firings.
Our daughter told us that with the exception of the chambermaids and the bar tender, to a person all of the wait staff is rude. As mentioned in other posts : the fridge is luekwarm, the room is hot. Opening the windows the allowable 6" only lets in more of the aircraft noise.
Avoid at all costs. Sheraton Dorval does not understand the meaning of service.
