| - Sagasta Salon is located along side an always frantic stretch of Indian School Road near 24th Street. It exists unassumingly, blending in with the other buildings and businesses in its proximity. I nearly drove past it when I went in for my hair appointment and if not for the big sign out front, I probably would have.
The building itself appears to have been the former home of a Phoenix resident from years back. The decor inside is congruent to those pictures you would find in an ancient issue of Better Homes and Gardens from the 1950's. An unsettling shade of aquamarine covers the walls surrounding the hair styling stations.
My stylist Bryan went right to work. Now, I'm kind of inept when it comes to caring for my hair (my finances, my friendships, my life) and he is happy to share some pointers with me, taking the time to explain why he is cutting my hair the way he is. He also gave me some tips on how to style my hair, which I can quote him as saying is "the most difficult type of hair to cut". It's superfine, not unlike that of a bunny or Foxy Brown.
With attentive service and attention to detail, Bryan and the other stylists at Sagasta Salon are worth checking out. Many high end "salon only" hair products are available for purchase. Sagasta also offers facials, airbrush tanning, waxing, and body treatments. An adjoining coffee bar opened recently on the premises so you can sip lattes under the heat lamp while your Greg Brady perm does its thing.
