| - Maybe its the free rooms. Maybe its the big alligator statue standing just inside the front entrance. Maybe its Donna handing us shots after shots of Patron and Jameson while shooting craps and hitting the hi-lo for a whopping $2 (I know, I'm a high roller) and snapping my fingers for good luck. There's something about the Orleans that excites me on the inside.
Sure, it doesn't have all the glitz and glamour of the strip casinos, but when I'm at the Orleans, I'm there to gamble at relatively cheap tables and sleep for "free".
If you are worried about transportation, they do have a shuttle that goes to a few other strip properties frequently (stops at Wild Bills Saloon first IIRC), or you can always just cab it wherever. Cabs aren't too expensive in Vegas. Pro tip: if you cab it from the airport, make sure to tell the cabbie to not take the tunnel, unless you just like to overpay for your transportation.
The rooms are decent (don't expect a room like the Bella at the Palazzo), but if you are money-conscious and aren't going to spend all your time in your room, the rooms will suit you just fine. I think the rooms on the 20th and 21st floors are some of the more recently renovated, so try to get one of those rooms if you want.
I don't usually eat at the Orleans, but I have indulged on free brunch buffets (what can I say, it fills you up!) and the occasional graveyard steak and eggs from the coffee shop. The food will do in a pinch, but Vegas has much better food to offer.
And yes, they do have a movie theatre, video game arcade, and a bowling alley upstairs. Speaking of which, I haven't gone drunken bowling for a while, and I have a free room to use, hmm...!
