I have gone to the same garage for years. It was convenient and I felt like they always treated me well.
I recently went in for a squeaky belt. Initially the noise was minimal and they sprayed silicone on the belt. The noise went away for a few hours. A few days later the noise would get really loud when I turned on the air conditioning. I went back and was told it was a seized compressor. Repairs were estimated at $1200-1700. Because the air conditioner was still functioning, my husband suggested a second opinion. I had heard good things about Andrew's shop. He replaced two belts and changed the oil for under $150. The noise is gone and he assured me the air conditioner is sound.
An added bonus is proximity to the light rail line. Drop off your car, take a short walk to the New Bern station and go uptown.
Glad to have found my new garage.
