UPDATE: Jeff from Pure Plumbing reached out to me and sent Alex to my house this morning (Saturday). Problem was diagnosed FREE OF CHARGE, and we were given a few options. I'm glad to report the leak and whip (?) is now fixed and we have a one year warranty on parts and work. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THINGS RIGHT!
(Friday night, 10:30 PM.) First of all, I thought I'd be giving a FIVE STAR rating. Pure Plumbing was recommended by a friend. We developed a water leak in our front yard. I called Pure Plumbing and the guy (Juan) said he could come out right then. It was 10:45 P.M. I asked how much the service charge would be - he told me "there is no service charge - we only charge for what we repair". I was impressed. The truck showed up and my husband and I were waiting outside. The man was very polite, said he'd get his shovel and see what the problem was ... then just as he was going to dig he said "OH BY THE WAY, THERE'S A $125 DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE, ARE YOU O.K. WITH THAT?". No, I'm not. I realize that plumbing repairs can be expensive and difficult, but I didn't like the way that charge was "sprung" on me ... like he figured well it's the middle of the night, I have the shovel in my hand - surely they'll just say "yeah, go ahead and start digging". I feel like you can't trust anyone in the a/c or plumbing business anymore.
