  • This makes me very sad to post but it has been eating away at me the last few days so here it goes... Big disappointment and definitely not worth the money. They should be ashamed. I am no marine biologist but I have been to other aquariums and I can tell you the fish at other places aren't made to live in murky filthy water. Some tanks had mold growing in them. You could barely see the sea lions even if they were right up against the glass because the water was so cloudy. Secondly, there was very little educational information about the fish posted. The signage in general was poor. You couldn't really tell where you were supposed to go next. It seemed like there was not a natural flow. The floors were lit with cheap blue rope lights (like the kind you buy at Home Depot or Spencer's Gifts). Parts of the rope light were hanging down in spots where you could trip over them. The tanks themselves were not great either. They were filled with cheap plastic fake aquatic plants and some had nothing at all. One take actually had glass marbles like you buy from Michaels in the bottom of the tank. Bottom line, I was totally embarrassed that I had brought out of town guests here and angry that I spent so much money per ticket for such a big disappointment. I also feel very sad for the aquatic life who will now spend their days miserable in Odysea's inadequate enclosures. I've seen better aquariums at Rainforset Cafe... And they are free to go see. Oh I forgot to add, when you walk up from the parking lot you are welcomed with a horrendous smell of raw sewage. I thought hat maybe it was just a bad day (backed up plumbing or something), but judging from the other reviews online here, sounds like the sewage stench has been part of the experience for a while now. Lovely!
