| - On a crowded Saturday night, our party of 4 was able to score a table near the back. BRGR has a great atmosphere for a weekend dinner, and the $3 valet parking on this crowded street is a definite plus.
Our table ordered a Greek salad, fries to share, and 3 burgers: the Button Buster, Fire in the Hole, and Maui Wowie. The salad was as expected, and the fries were plentiful. The burgers came out very cutely presented with little wooden picks indicating the doneness ordered.
Since it was our first experience at BRGR, my partner and I were indecisive on whether to order our Button Buster rare or medium rare, as I am endlessly wary of overcooked meat. After speaking to our server, who pointed out the "Doneness Guide" on our menu and assured us that they were sticklers for turning out the burgers with the correct expected doneness, we opted for medium rare. Our burger came out medium well and tasted overcooked even to my other half, who prefers his meat more cooked than I do. I prefer my meat rare, so to me, it tasted like someone had ruined some perfectly good short rib. I would definitely have sent it back had I not been sharing the dish with my decidedly unpicky partner.
I did not try the other two burgers, but our friends were in agreement that they much preferred the Maui Wowie to the Fire in the Hole, which they deemed only okay. Overall, I was pretty underwhelmed by the food and won't choose BRGR for its burgers again.
