Each time I got to Las Vegas, I stay at a different hotel. My recent trip in July 2017 was Excalibur's turn. I received two free nights from the M-life players club. 2 "free" nights was still $169 after resort fees and parking.
I liked Excalibur. They are linked by Tram to Mandolin Bay and The Luxor. It's on a corner lot across from Tropicana and New York New York (always fun to hear people screaming on the roller coaster).
Inside there are two towers-- The Resort Tower and the Royal Tower. The Royal Tower is the updated rooms. We stayed in the Royal Tower. When you go to the elevator there are two sections to walk to. Stay left if your room is odd number and right if your room number is even basically (may be the other way around, but you get the idea).
The room was an average room. No frills and it faced the dead part of the strip. The thing that I could see was the Luxor Pyramid, which is always pretty cool to look at. We stayed on the 26th floor.
Inside the casino are fun shops, restaurants, and lots of machines to play. I only spent $24 on slots this whole trip. I was more interested in seeing shows and the strip then stay inside and waste my money. This was hard for me because I like the slot machine. I can be a slotaholic.
Dick's resort is inside here. It's the restaurant that is rude to you on purpose. I wanted to go, but never made it. Downstairs, nightly, there is a dinner show, Tournament of Kings, and it has live Jousting. I didn't make it to that, either, but I will one day! Never enough time! it
The pool-- Excalibur has four pools. They close at 6 and 7 PM which is nuts and not cool. They aren't more than 4 feet. Two of the pools have a waterfall which is somewhat relaxing to stand under, one has a small (super small) slide. There is an adult pool ( you get free water. Don't have to pay $5 like everyone else) although you have to pay extra to get in here. There are no kids allowed obviously so this is more where the single people hang out. We went in there because it was less crowded and I was on vacation without my kids-- I certainly didn't want to be around others lol. Honestly though, we checked out all pools.
