  • Anthony Vince Nail Salon opened at Crocker Park the first week of May '10. I tried it out a week after opening to see what a big fish nail salon was like. I say big fish not only because this is a chain, but because there are no less than twenty pedicure chairs and twenty manicure stations. They also do facials and massages, but I just went in for my feet. Although they are big, it doesn't feel overwhelming or loud. Some how they still make it feel like a spa inside. As for a pedicure, a place will get two stars as long as you're clean and I walk out of there not bleeding and with passable polish on my toes. Three stars if I didn't sit there gritting my teeth the whole time. This place gets two extra starts for a total of five starts and for good reason! First off the place is quite nice inside. Clean, elaborately decorated, very comfy message chairs and a bar! They serve all sorts of drinks, juices, waters, beer, wine and liquor. Perfect place for girlfriends-you can have a cocktail with an umbrella in it while you get your toes done! They have pleasant music, nice lighting and lots of trickling water so it's very relaxing. I was greeted by a very nice host upon walk in directing me to pick my polish and by the time I was finished, they were ready to take me. Now the pedicure. Tyler, my friendly pedicurist, did a fine job and it was a challenge as this was my first pedicure after a long winter. I got the basic pedicure which was quite complete. It included a soak, cuticle push back and trim, foot file, lotion on the legs and feet, a decent leg and foot message, steam wrap with a hot towel and polish. Now at some pedicure places, they are aggressive and rough especially when it comes to cuticles. I hate having my cuticles pushed back and trimmed because some places take that metal tool and scratch as though your toe is a lotto ticket. Tyler was fantastic- being gentle, but thorough and very detailed with each toe. My cuticles were gently put in top form. I was actually able to relax and enjoy the whole pedicure! Everything else was great. The file, message, hot towel, and polish were all thorough and enjoyable. I had new feet when I was done! I am under no misconceptions. Pedicures are a volume business. The more people they get to the more they make- and that may be the case here too (as evident by the twenty pedicure chairs), but it certainly didn't feel like it. Tyler took the time and did everything in a top to bottom way never seeming rushed. Conversation was friendly, but not forced. It was completely relaxing and I had new feet when we were finished! As an extra bonus, a 20% off special to celebrate their grand opening for the month of May! New feet for $28.02! I will definitely be back and next time I will try one of their mani/pedi specials.
