  • My mother spent five and a half weeks in CCICU. They were horrible. Most of the staff was more interested in hanging out at the nurses's station than doing their job! They were definitely not overworked by any means! Shadyside may boast of having some of the best cardiac surgeons in the country but the follow up care definitely lacks in my eyes. By the way, my mother passed away at the end of those of those weeks and not from the heart surgery!
