  • I'm from Los Angeles and am used to haircuts being either really crappy or really expensive. My experiences at Dean of Shadyside couldn't be further from either. A friend recommended it because I go to school in Pittsburgh and desperately needed a haircut. I booked an appointment with Ellie, nervous as I usually am about trying a new salon. She is a dream! She gave me a really hip haircut and gave me exactly what I asked for. I went to the counter expecting (and more than willing) to pay $60 or $70... needless to say I was stunned to find that it only ran me $25, $5 off for it being my first visit. Incredible. I've been back 2 other times with equally pleasing results. While I can't vouch for the quality of the other stylists, I do HIGHLY recommend going in and asking for Ellie!! You won't be disappointed.
