Stop downloading music!!!
Okay...maybe that's asking too much.
But, remember when you liked albums...like entire albums? Music used to be so good that you would put on a record and commit to it for an entire side...maybe even both!!!
While there is music for driving, music for working out, music for parties...there should be a place for music in the home that compliments the environment instead of dominating; which is the perfect place for vinyl. While cooking. While eating. While reading. There are genres that just fit this niche. Maybe some Stan Getz Jazz. Maybe some Peter Tosh Reggae. Maybe some Mogwai electronica. Sure, you know all Clapton's Sunshine of Your Love, but have you listened to the whole record? You know how many Beatles songs don't get played at birthday party's or on documentaries? Tons!!! Vinyl is for those who mine for music, to find that vein that leads to songs that no one else is listening to and so they get to just be yours...at least it feels that way.
Why Stinkweeds? Well, it's all about the music. You're not having to deal with a bunch of burnouts playing Magic the Gathering, or the cast of Big Bang Theory haggling over a vintage Nintendo 64. It's just about music, and the people who work there are exactly who you want curating your collection. It may sound silly, but the record store is a place where you can take the whole family and share something universal about yourselves...the love of great music.
