Nau-Ti-Gal is close to home. This is our second visit in as many months. Both visits, the food has been delicious. Hospitality has been gracious. Tonight Bobby was our server, he did a nice job but seemed a little overwhelmed with the number of tables he had. I had the Wisconsin fish fry - I love that Nautigal serves this Wisconsin famous, fish fry dinner all the time not just on Friday nights. Our table dined on shark bites for appetizers - always excellent; house salad with a bowl of the famous Captain Bill's Chowder (always excellent), Baby Walleye sandwich, and coconut shrimp - all were delicious and equally enjoyed. The ladies tried Long Island Iced teas and a Key Lime Martini - an Old Fashioned and tap beers were also served - sorry to say, the cocktails were misses - almost like the bartender was mixing by reading a recipe...this was a Saturday evening and they were not real busy. Not sure, maybe an "off" night at the bar. None-the-less we enjoyed our visit, as we always enjoy the Von Ruetenberg's establishments. Nautigal is probably more fun in the summer as they are located on the Yahara River and mouth of Lake Mendota - but they serve great food all year round. Give them a visit, I'd like to hear what you think.
