Despite the fact that Nevada is an "open carry" state, and I am even a licensed CCW holder (with all the professional training that goes with it) I was harassed to the point where mall security called for Henderson PD to harangue me.
There are no signs posted at the entrances saying the Galleria Mall is a "gun free" zone; if there were, I would've left my weapon secure in my vehicle... nope, they opt instead to let you wander in and start shopping before harassing you. The really sad part is, one of their security guards confidentially told me that if I went outside, concealed the gun, and came back in... he would "look the other way".
According to the Crime Prevention Research Center, from the 1950's through July 10th of 2016, 98.4% of mass shootings have occurred on gun-free zones, with just 1.6% occurring where citizens are allowed to have firearms with them. I think I'll be doing my bulk gift shopping elsewhere, where I know I can properly my family.
