Not too shabby, Mandalay! I was born and raised in beautiful Hawaii Nei so I had my speculations and reservations about Mandalay Bay Beach. It's pretty tough to impress a Hawaii local with a man made beach but hats off to you, Mandalay! The wave pool is pretty impressive. It's huge and the waves are not too large but realistic enough and strong enough to push you to "shore."
There are tons of beach chairs fronting the man made beach but it was packed when I went there and we actually had to wait for some beach chairs to free up. I didn't care for that section much as you didn't really have any privacy. The beach chairs were so close to each other and you could hear other people's conversations so it wasn't a great place to relax.
There are other pools and they have them sectioned off pretty well so if you're in the mood to relax, they do have a hot tub and other pools to swim in. There were tons of kids in the pools and overall, the pools/beach were a really family-friendly area.
The customer service was pretty good. There were always pool employees around cleaning the area of cups left behind and they were pretty friendly. Something that I did notice, however, was that the pool area was much hotter than anywhere else because the sun was beaming off of the gold plated hotel!
