A pub in London is a musky, gloomy, sad and dark place usually heavy with cigarette smoke and smell of lingering drunks.
London Pub Company captures this essence perfectly. This place is truly the epitome of the quintessential English hole in the wall.
It opens late, and the only place in the North Yonge area that serves fish n' chips which isn't a chained restaurant. That by itself means..absolutely nothing.
It reminds me of that place called 'Westminster' in the film 'Shaun of the Dead'. If I brought my lady friends here for any reason, it would be to get dumped by them.
The idea of a pub can an acquired taste that can only be enjoyed by the native English/Irish/Scottish, and it just doesn't work in this Country-common wealth or not.
The service is friendly, the staff are pleasant, and that's it. It's like having very friendly people sell you corn. You either like corn or you don't, and regardless how much you like corn, in the end of the day it's still corn. You can't make that shit gourmet, or up-sell it as if it was gold.
London pub is corn.
