  • I took my newly rescued Chinese Crested four year old mix dog here due to GI issues last week. I called first, to see if there was a long wait because they don't take appointments, it's walk in only. The kind receptionist said there wasn't a long wait, so we headed straight there. Upon arrival the three kind ladies at the front desk were very welcoming & genuine. I provided all of Benny' adoption papers, vaccination history, etc then explained his GI issues. We were put in a room very quickly, and Dr. Winn came in shortly thereafter. Dr. Winn immediately diagnosed a skin issue (rash / allergy) & after hearing about Benny's tumultuous past few weeks, knew he had a serious case of stress colitis. He prescribed four meds to treat. Check out was efficient & fast. Dr. Winn was professional and straight forward, as well as very generous with his services. He answered my questions without making me feel silly for asking. I highly recommend VCA Black Mountain & Dr. Winn, as well as rescuing dogs! It's a few days later now and Benny is doing much better!! Thank you VCA Black Mountain!!
