| - Let me begin by saying the ValPac Coupon is a great deal. Its the hotel, restaurant and bar that needs a make-over. My husband and I recently stayed at at the resort, as we have many times before. Upon arriving we had to wait at the front desk for over 30 minutes before someone appeared to check us in. Upon checking into our room we discovered the fireplace did not work, the TV reverted to Mayberry RFD every 10-15 minutes and there was no soap. We were not concerned as these were issues that could be dealt with. We proceeded to dinner only to find out that now there are items that can not be ordered using the coupon and the menu changed. My husband ordered the Salmon. I requested the seasonal fish. NO, that was not included. Why salmon and not the other fish? I finally got to the point where I just asked what I could order, ended up with lasagna. It was actually good. Salads were also not included. Thats fine, I was willing to pay for my salad, which never appeared. Ordered a Cosmo which looked like someone opened a bottle of Cranberry Juice and just pored it in a glass. I actually had to order a shot of vodka just to make it seem like a cosmo. After dinner we stopped at the bar. The bartender seemed to be having an off day, definitely not in the holiday spirit. Rude and very short. We left after one drink. While I was sitting there my husband went to the front desk to ask for some soap. The attendant guaranteed someone would deliver soap to our room. Never happened. The next morning my husband said he would go to the front desk and get some. I told him NO. I would call and request someone bring us some. Lo and behold, the phone does not work, not was there a clock. All in all a very poor experience. Sad, because all of the other times we have been there we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Resort definitely needs some upgrades.
