I wanted to reach out and inform you of what an amazing experience I had at your Chandler Blvd. location this past week.
My family is visiting me from NY this week as my father is turning 60. We as a family took him out all day and did things he enjoys such as fishing, hiking, antiquing and eating quite a bit!
I asked him what he would like for dinner and he said RIBEYE...By this time it was around 4:30pm and I of course went to my local Fry's where I always get a customer cut ribeye about 3 inches thick to grill and roast. By the time I went to fry's their butcher had gone home for the evening.
Frustrated by this I went to my second usual place which is Basha's. I called on the phone and was assured that their butcher would be there till 7 and they would be able to cut anything I needed. I drove the 10 mins down the block parents in tow and when I got there I was informed that they too had just sent home their butcher. I was obviously furious because I was just told that he would be there and now I was in serious jeopardy of disappointing my dad on a big birthday.
Lastly, I thought of Safeway which was right across the street... Your butcher Daniel answered the phone and informed me that he had just taken apart his machine and was cleaning up for the day but could get me one first thing the next morning. After I explained the situation to him and asked him if he could please make this happen for my father, he of course said yes.
I couldn't have drove there faster, with a huge smile on my face I walk to the back of the store where I see Daniel already portioning out my requested cut making it look beautiful as can be. He wrapped it up and came out to shake my hand and wished my father and my family a very happy birthday. I could have cried...Not only did he put together his machine which was cleaned and sanitized, but he did it to make another persons day that much better.
I myself work in Retail and have done so for over 12 years. I pride myself in offering unbelievably customer service and often am upset that others don't go the extra mile I would for my customers. Daniel 100% exceeded my expectations and created a lifetime promoter of the Safeway brand. I will not go anywhere else for my groceries and butcher needs from now on all because of such a simple act of kindness.
I hope this gets to him as I lost my receipt with my survey link on it...I will also post to Yelp and to your Facebook page as well in hopes this gets back to him and he can fully understand what it meant to me that day.
