| - We ate here along with a large group. It was my first time at Fogo, though I have heard many great things about it. I LOVED the salad bar. I could have happily eaten from there alone--the fresh mozzarella was divine. However, the meat is the highlight of this place, and quite an impressive one. Wayfaring servers with meat on swords--what's not to like? My favorites included the filet mignon with bacon, parmesan pork, and lamb.
Of the sides on the table, I really liked the Pão de Queijo cheese rolls--like big, soft bubbles! The mashed potatoes just tasted like mashed potatoes and the bananas just weren't my sort of thing.
While the meat service was constant, the regular table service was lacking. My section in the middle of the table was almost entirely ignored. I only acquired a drink because my husband directed a server my way; I only had one water refill the whole time, and my finished plate awaited pick up for about 30 minutes. People seated around me gave up and walked to the bar to get drinks.
The dessert offerings that night were chocolate mousse cake, cheesecake, and tres leches. My husband chose the mousse cake, and I thought he made the right call; I had the tres leches, which tasted bland to me. All of the dessert slices were pretty small, which is probably wise considering the meat smorgasbord.
My husband adored the place. The service issues were frustrating for me, but overall I liked it. If you're a carnivore, it's the place to go.
