  • I live in the apartments next to The Casual Pint. I've gone in a few times and my experience has overall met my expectations and I was very excited for this to be my new spot. Especially since it is within walking distance. This past Friday however completely changed my mind and I think I will return to my normal spot at Shady's. My boyfriend and I came in after work to grab a few beers and a snack. The place was nice and steady. There were three people working, 2 girls and a guy. The guy seemed to be the only one working. The girls however, a brunette in her 30's and a blonde whom I assume to be in her 20's. Those two completely ruined our night. They were attached at the hip like high schoolers. If you interrupted them instead of acting like "Oh no, we kinda got caught talking and not really doing shit" they acted annoyed --light eye rolling-- about your presence. The blonde was the worst of it, if she wasn't whispering away to the other girl then she was on her phone ignoring everything around her. I don't mean a quick-ish glance to text someone back, she was scrolling through all forms of social media and never looking away. We waited 20 minutes, had 2 rounds of beers, before we decided it was appropriate timing to ask where the chips trio order was we had placed. We knew it had been forgotten. Half of the employees didn't feel the need to work so clearly, our order was missed. My boyfriend asked the blonde if she could check for us, her response was rude and along the lines of "Uhh, well I didn't even take your order so I don't know. I'll go ask." We KNOW you didn't take our order but you work here. Come. On. She never checks back in on us to say, "hey, so sorry, we got that coming up." but instead 5 minutes later appears with it, sets it down, says nothing but "enjoy," and walks away. Seems slightly passive aggressive but whatever. We eat. Our basket is empty as well as our drinks and the blonde comes outside to check on the table next to us. Glances at our empty glasses and basket, does nothing and walks back in. We chuckle a little bit because we're like, man... we must've really irritated her tonight. I go up to the bar to order our drinks. She's there. She's rinsing dishes. She glances in my direction. She continues rinsing dishes. Allllllrrriiiggghhhtt. Fortunately, the guy working that night who was so on top of it all night helps me gets us another round. We finish our drinks and go inside to buy a pack of beer and fill a growler. We walk up to the register and it appears the brunette is helping someone else on the register so we wait in line. The blonde is in front of me, facing the brunette (I'm sure they had just been chatting away but blondie is back on her phone). She is standing on the customer side of the register and doesn't notice my boyfriend and I standing back a bit waiting for her to get out of our way so we can get up closer to check out. Brunette starts to help my boyfriend, blonde takes notice and glances over and sees us, and does nothing to move out of our way. She is literally standing directly in front of me. My boyfriend steps closer to hand brunette our card and steps back and she still doesn't move. We couldn't believe it. A middle-aged gentleman at the bar looked at me and chuckled a little with this bewildered look as if to say, "Jeez?" The unfortunate part about reading this review is how impossible it is to portray how cliquey these girls seemed. The body language, the passive aggressive customer service. It was just exhausting. I have to say, the brunette seemed to be so incredibly out of it that night, I'm not even sure she realized how rude they seemed to be. The blonde however, she gave me the vibe of someone with attitude, unable to separate emotions from the job. Get rid of the immature employee(s); phone's should be in the back--if you're gonna be on it, you're not going to be looking at the customers anyway, might as well not show us how much you don't care; do something about the cost or quality of the chips trio; hire more dudes like the one that was there. I'll be back at Shady's where the staff is mostly 1 or 2 guys behind the bar of 75 patrons and they still kill it with customer service. I'll wait 15 minutes for a drink there before I'll wait in line here with a blonde who acts like we're former high school enemies.
