Went in with the lady one night after work. We stood in front of a hostess for a minute or so before she looked up to greet me. After a quick wait we were walked to a small table behind a pillar. The dining room looked nice and the skylight in the middle was lovely. We were greeted quickly by our enthusiastic server, who had great beer recommendations but was a little lost with the food and happy hour specials. The beer came out quickly and the food shortly after (we got the slingers). The beer was good and really well priced. The food was ok, nothing exciting, but it was tasty enough even if the egg roll was still doughy in the middle. Also, while I can't call it overpriced (portion was enormous) but the premium price goes to the premium portion not the premium product. The service during our visit was attentive, but bordered on clingy.
Lastly, and maybe this is just me, but I couldn't help but noticed that all of the furniture was dinged and scratched. It's probably the same tables and chairs that were in the old Z'tejas that used to occupy that spot. And maybe that's the best was to sum up my experience. Absolutely serviceable, but already used and definitely lacking the attention to detail to make it anything more than a "once in a blue moon" visit.
