| - January 4th of 2011 I went to Mark Kia to trade in my Sorrento. I did call the dealership first to make sure that I could be in and out as quickly as possible. My dad was dying and I was his caretaker...so I could not be gone too long. I was left alone after talking to "Bob" (he took my paperwork to finance guys) He was gone over an hour. Couldn't find anyone else to talk to (literally, place was a ghost town) it was 7pm, I also couldn't leave because he had my drivers license, license plate, and keys. Ugh...Finally he comes back to explain to me that the bank they were talking to is closed now and to come back tomorrow.
Stupidly, I go back. I wanted the Sol, but left with another Sorrento (6 hours later). It was beatiful and I liked it.
Here is where it gets weird. Two months later...I call the dealership, as I never received paperwork to make payments to the bank. Thier response was "oh goodness, we should have called you, your loan was denied." What? No answers were given. Crazy. 3k miles later. They offered me another deal with another bank at 25% interest. Negative.
I understand I was upside down on my vehicle, but this was ridiculous. So after another week of talk, I told them that I wanted my trade in back and let me move on about my bizness.
They said that they do not do that. I became firm and said, they need to change their policies.
In the end, they did give me my car back and my down payment, (this was the day after I sent a voicemail to "MARK") in which I immediately drove to another dealer and was in and out in 2 hours with my deal and my new vehicle.
I will say, that everyone I dealt with except for the finance guys (all of them) were very nice..a little sloppy, but nice.
