| - I used New Horizons for my OB when I was pregnant with my daughter. I never had any issues with the ladies up front at any of the three locations I had gone to, however the wait was a little much 99% of the time. (granted SOME of the times the wait was less than 20 minutes AFTER my appointment time, but I wasn't too concerned about it as I scheduled these early in the morning and didn't work until late afternoon, so I never had any issues other than it being incontinent waiting) So these are the actual issue I had with them, and why I currently am seeing a new OB for this pregnancy.
1) There is a NP at the Gilbert (mercy) location, who I really didnt care for. During my NST (mind you this means NON STRESS TESTS), if my daughter was sleeping, or wasnt moving around enough for HER taste, she would come in and SHAKE my belly around. And I dont mean in a nice "come on baby lets wake up and get this done" kind of way but a "WTF baby I dont have time for your S#!T" kind of way. It rubbed me the WRONG way and I never wanted to deal with her again. Non-Stress by butt.
2) During my very first ultra sound as a NEW mom, the tech was very.. uncaring? The appointment seemed rushed, I was nervous as all heck, and she just didnt seem to care too much. But, she WAS nice enough to tell me that I have a heart shaped uterus! Now keep in mind, this was my FIRST ULTRASOUND with this practice, and I stayed there my whole pregnancy! Which leads me to the main reason I will not be back.
3) at 31 weeks, my daughter was breach, she was stuck up in my heart shaped uterus and didnt want to flip, she was content staying the way she was. So we opted into trying a version around 35 weeks. You have to schedule a hospital visit for these things because there's a chance of going into labor during or because of one. So my husband and I get there, both of us are nervous as all heck. Doctor Chu finally arrives and we start the version with the hospital ultasound techs there to watch the progress. We try flipping her THREE times (and holy hell this is painful! I was in TEARS it hurt so bad, my husband finally stopped it and said no more!) but on the last attempt, the ultra sound tech and Dr. Chu look at each other and say "did you just see all that fluid rush up there!?" in a very concerned matter. So they keep scanning and then Dr. Chu asks me "did you know you have a heart shaped uterus?" ... Yes, yes I did. Seeing as YOUR OFFICE is the one who told me way back when! How was this NOT noted anywhere in my file to where my own Dr. wouldnt have seen this!? The version was a complete waste of my time. We had to schedule a C-Section anyways.
4) A month before I had my daughter, I was admitted into the hospital for a horrible headache, I mean I was in tears it hurt so bad. So they put me on a 24hr pre-eclampsia watch. I finally got released stating I didnt have it and to take it easy. The morning of my scheduled C-Section, my blood pressure was sky rocketing and my blood platelet count was so low they wouldnt let me proceed with a normal c-section and put me under, claiming it was sure tell signs of pre-eclampsia and that if we did a normal c-section there was a risk of bleeding out. It was turned into an emergancy c-section, so my husband was not allowed into the room. I was walked back there and put under, all on my own, scared out of my mind.
Now, 9 months later, i'm getting bills from my c-section for doctors I didnt ask to see, who walked into my room and then billed me for their time. Sketchy ass people.
Fingers crossed that my new doctors might take more care of this baby, and maybe might be able to provide me with more of a personal experience, and maybe add notes about my pregnancy into my file so that there wont be any more "did you know" moments MONTHS after seeing the same practice.
