| - Given this is Hula's 913th Yelp review, it seems that there is not much left to be said about the restaurant.
Nonetheless, here are some notes on my recent experience there with my girlfriend and mom!
To bring, I think that the architecture is one of Hula's best aspects. It is a modern Hawaiian open concept building. It is decorated nicely and uniquely with various lights and woods that give the customer a full sensory experience.
Moving on, I went here during happy hour so my party just stuck with the half-priced appetizers! We order a ceviche, Hawaiian styled chicken wings, sweet potato fries and a crusted shrimp roll plate. I mainly ate the chicken wings and was quite pleased with them. The sauce offered an original flavor to a classic fish. Also, the ceviche was excellent! We scooped it with warm corn chips and were refreshed by is cool nature and flavorful/well-seasoned fish. I did not have any of the shrimp, but the sweet potato fries were good! They were your typical fries but what made the fries was the Hawaiian ranch that was served with them.
Lastly, the service was great, and it was nice to see that most of the staff seemed to be native Hawaiians who had a passion for their culture and food! My waiters name is passing me, but he was a kind young man who was attentive and polite throughout the night.
If you have yet to check out Hula's and are in search for some great Hawaiian fare, make sure you try it out!
