If i could give ZERO stars I would. Century Link is currently providing me with 370KB upload & half of that speed on download (YES - DIAL UP SPEED IN 2016 FOLKS). I found out I'm paying for 4MBPS & not even getting 1MB. I keep hearing service in my area is exhausted even if I was previously getting 4mbps & now for some reason it's not available. Even at that 4MBPS wasn't much better and the download side was 512KB. Terrible.
After 10 customer service/tech calls & about 20 hours of my life wasted on hold later --not to count the many trips to the electronics store to buy my own modem/routers (bc most stores don't carry antiquated technology so I had to find ones that did & then got laughed at for showing them Century Link's list of approved modems) to see if that was causing the problems -- they either A) have no resolution but 'aw shucks' or 'gee whiz wish we could help. or B) Have no clue what's going on & continue to give me answers that make no sense.
P.S. No bill adjustments offered for not getting the speed I pay for no matter how many managers I've spoken with. And I know if they wanted to they could load me into another server to get my speed faster in a neighboring area, but refuse to.
The worst part is, they own the ground lines surrounding my condo & have no other option for internet unless I buy a hot spot that would essentially rely on their servers anyway, so it would suck just as badly.
My new quest, unless Century Link can fix my issues, every store gets this review. In addition, I will post about it on social media regularly in hopes that no one I know or care about spends a dime on this waste of a product.
