I've been to several vets in town with dogs and cats. There's definitely some caring and compassionate vets in the area but Blue Cross is my favorite. Drs. Ryan and Dutton are both wonderful and the staff is very caring. We recently found a young stray cat who was in terrible shape. We tried deperately to nurse the poor little cat back to health but he was too far gone. Probably a victim of advanced FIV or FLV, the little guy was scared, in pain and almost completely paralyzed due to involvement of his spinal cord. Unfortunately, the only option was humane euthanasia. We brought him in about 1 minute before closing and without any fuss, Dr. Ryan and Toni, very compassionately, dealt with this poor, unfortunate stray as if he belonged to them. I would have understood had they turned us away or sent us to a 24 hour vet to deal with this poor, no name stray so close to closing; but instead they did what was best for this suffering little cat. I'll always be grateful for their display of compassion for this poor, scared, dying stray.
