| - I've always wanted to write a review on Yelp, but never had the motivation. I found it tonight.
Visiting Dotty's for a burger or a beer is one of my favorite things to do. Tonight, I switched things up and ordered their Lemon & Herb Chicken. After two bites of the sandwich, I noticed it was extremely salty. My wife took a bite and confirmed it.
I flagged down our waitress and politely explained the sandwich was too salty and asked to have a new one without the herbs and less salt. She was pleasant and without hesitation took the sandwich away with the promise of replacing it. Less than a minute later she returned with the SAME sandwich and informed me that the manager had instructed her that they wouldn't replace it, but that I could BUY a second sandwich because half of it was consumed.
I responded by asking to speak with said manager. Moments later, Rachael Stanley, the general manager, appeared at our table and repeated that she couldn't replace the sandwich because half of it was eaten, but could sell me another one. I was dumbfounded and dismayed, but didn't relent.
She soon offered to replace it for no charge.
As I see it, there is no way to justify what happened. I'm confident when I write that I've never been treated so unfairly. Even if I was a jerk, which I wasn't; and even if I ate half, which I hadn't; no customer should ever be told they can buy a replacement for an item that was unsatisfactory.
The final insult was that Rachael and the waitress didn't acknowledge their error with an apology after the fact. But I take solace in knowing that when they reads this, cringing, they'll resolve never to treat a customer so poorly again.
