| - Parysa Salemi is the best Instructor here 100%!!!! Not all Instructors here are created equal. Update: Keltie LaVitt also kicks ass!
So I have attended 4 barre classes now, and I have really loved it overall. I got a 20 class pass for Christmas. I am an active ballerina and modern dancer who is still dancing company at 35. I need to get my joints and muscles really hot to perform, and I found barre to do the trick. I only decided to do a review so early because the Queen St location in Toronto is a place where the instructor matters 100%. I have attended barre in the US, and in the US I have only had superstar instructors. I had my first 3 classes at the Queen St W location with the most amazing, super energetic, and engaged instructor. She did great demos, never let anyone get lost, showed how to hold the weights and form, did adjustments and recommendations and she spoke clearly and gave great descriptions of what you should be feeling and doing. A NOVICE at this class would have KILLED it, GREAT Instructor, Great Class, SO FUN!!!I LOVED IT. This would be a 5+++ star review based on my first three classes
BUTTTTT and that is... I went to class #4. If I had the instructor I had from class #4 on class #1 I would have never attended class number #2.
This instructor was the most lazy, unmotivated, phoning-it-in instructor I have ever had. She was ultra fast and quiet speaking, nothing she was saying was being understood, she did not do any exercise demos, and when I mention this I am I saying she did NO DEMOS AT ALL - She never picked up the weights, did the movements, showed form or stretched with the tubes. LAZY. This instructor was only there to waste my time and to half-ass it and phone it in.
Instructor for class #4 did not introduce herself, say good morning or give any other basic fitness instructor etiquette. I feel that the reason this studio is not absolutely rammed all the time is because of this one extremely client offending, sub-par, lazy, phoning-it-in, I do not care to know you or help you whatsoever instructor. My day 1 instructor made me fall in love with Pure Barre and for that I am thankful and lucky.
I am not here to speak poorly about someone or bash their character, just to make sure that if you give this place a try, consider the instructor before you make your final judgement. My absolute favourite instructor at this studio is Parysa Salemi - Parysa is the best Barre Instructor, I love her classes. I will use the rest of my passes on Parysa's Classes - If you have been to Pure Barre and it sucked, maybe go back and try Parysa.
5 STARS for Parysa Salemi.
