| - This small café bar hybrid is trying too hard. Staff is mildly inept, reminiscent of a drugged out college campus coffee shop, and the patrons range from crunchy granola wannabe to self righteous thespian. The food is fine, nothing spectacular but worth the price. The beer selection is wonderful, especially for a cafe in phoenix, but the staff doesn't seem to know the difference between a beer other than color. the cashier proceeded to tell my wife, a veteran, that someone always asks vets how many people they killed, though advised to be careful so they don't freak out and blow the place up. Quaint. Offensive. Not even environmentally friendly. Also, we almost got attacked by a dog on our way in. The only reason I'd come back would be to chuckle at actresses boasting about performances and geeky kids insisting complete strangers look EXACTLY like a younger, wiser Jerry Garcia. If your a lost, self conscious liberal unsure of safe places in a big republican state, look no further. Otherwise, don't waste your time, head down the street to Sun Up brewery.
