If you are flying to Vegas, McCarran International Airport is where you fly in. They have a strict policy on where Uber and Lyft can pick you up, so you would have to walk to Level V (for Valet) in their parking structure for pick up. It can be confusing if you are not a local. Good thing the Uber and Lyft drivers in the area seem to be quite familiar with the airport's lay out.
The TSA check here is on the intense side. To their credit, they have a really optimal system with the trays gathering at the end and then coming back to the front. 3 people are able to put things in their bins at once and go through the security check point. The process will be quicker if you move all electronics and liquids (including toiletries) and leaving them in the bins. I think I have the routine down so the process doesn't stress me out but this process seemed to stress out some of the other passengers at the airport.
The departure for domestic flight waiting area left me feeling a bit unsatisfied by the McCarran International Airport. I found this terminal to be the most boring terminal for an International Airport in terms of shops. There were a few shopping opportunities but nothing over the top. There were no gift worthy items that I wanted to buy at all compared to when I visit other International Airports. Maybe the international terminals are more impressive.
The only thing I really enjoyed about this airport was the SLOT MACHINES! The had my FAVORITE slot machine, BLACK WIDOW!! And since my flight was slightly delayed I had some time with this machine and ended up winning some more money before leaving Vegas. Woo Hoo!!
