  • My most recent repair was a 2005 Mazda Rx 8 with what I knew was either a pilot or throw out bearing going bad due to the noise I heard when shifting my clutch. I even told them replace everything you need to when dropping the car off. The next day by 5:30pm (as promised) I received a call letting me know a ball park figure prior to them pulling the car apart, mind you I dropped the car off with the gas tank on empty, the interior thoroughly trashed, and the exterior dirty - all I needed was the clutch repaired, I could care less about the rest. The day after that (day 3 for those of you counting) I received a call telling me the damages; pilot bearing, throw out bearing, and some studs that held my exhaust pipe to the catalytic converter that needed to be replaced. about 1500 dollars total. I asked emphatically, what about the fly wheel, the slave cylinder, the rear main seal? Nope, nope, and nope - they had checked my apex seals as well (rotary engine based) - no leaks. They could have totally charged me up the butt but they did not. Overall days needed to finish 1 more - day 4 (for those of you still counting), a phone call around 8:30AM as promised advised me to come pick up the car. When I arrived low and behold my car, (which apparently is triple checked to ensure full function and repair), was clean inside and out, and had about a half tank of gas. Needless to say the clutch and transmission worked perfect - like it did when new. I was charged an additional $15 for the gas but I think that's pretty darn fair. The invoice also came with a breakdown of battery function, TPMS functionality, and other issues identified (none in my case) I'll be back just like I have before. I've used Tri City Transmission every since I had a car (that had a problem with it's transmission). I don't always use them often as once repaired, as I don't need to come back. But for the five or so times I have, each experience has been an easy one. Staff have always been pleasant, forthcoming with details when asked, and on time. On average they'll have my cars for about 3-4 days from the minute I drop them off. I have yet to catch them in a lie, found a charge not necessary or not done. But in hindsight, I have stopped looking since I trust them that much. Rest easy coming here, Tri City has been around for decades, it once used to be right off of the Salt River Bank, but their current location is awesome. Thanks Tri City!
