| - This is what the desert looks like.
Migratory birds, bunnies, burrowing owls, sandpipers, avocets, herons, pocket rats, horses and other creatures too. Wildflowers, desert blooming trees. It smells great there too.
This is our favorite park, though there are more like it cropping up in S Gilbert and other SE Valley areas. We got married here on the Dino Dig. My sister and I quit the gym from October to March to bike from my house to the park then do a little work out. We meet lots of bird watchers from all over the world. You can see some of their amazing photos on a facebook page for SW birds.
Best time for wildlife but also peace and quiet is near dawn and near dusk, in fall, winter and spring.
Sure, its good for kids to learn about nature, our water supply and astronomy but parents generally "drop the leash" and make it not so clean. Do NOT go on New Years Day or any holiday. It will be packed with horrible people.
