Did NOT PASS The Bar. As a recent AZ transplant (from LA) I have been a long time and frequent client of Drybar. I'm a busy business owner, actress and mom. So, blowouts are a life and time saver for me. I decided to try Primp and Blow when they were offering a Groupon since their shop is much closer to my home. The entire experience was not only underwhelming, it was quite frankly irritating and disappointing. I had a 9 am appointment on a Thursday. I had a delay getting my toddler out of the house, sent a text through their virtual concierge (which I have since learned does not have anyone actually on the "other side of it" to respond) to let them know I was running a few minutes late and arrived at 10 minutes after 9. The shop was virtually empty (there was 1 other customer there) and I was greeted by 3 sour-faced women behind the front desk. The rug at the front desk was so filthy (covered with blonde hair). My husband noticed this too and commented to me later about how gross it was. (It looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a week at least). When I arrived I was not offered anything to drink nor was I ever offered anything during my entire visit (until I asked). The stylist who I was assigned to then informed me that because I was late and she was scheduled with someone right after me, she was going to have to do a "very quick shampoo" if she did one at all. In over 5 years of going to Drybar, I have NEVER been greeted in such a manner. I am usually on time or early for appointments and on the rare occasion that I have run late, I have never been told they will need to cut my services short. The stylist asked me how I wanted my hair and I showed her a picture of the way I have it done. She asked if it's usually finished with a curling iron and I said "yes". She then told me it would be an extra $10 if I wanted that. (Drybar does not charge extra for this service). I told her to forget it. The experience was mediocre at best from there. The woman doing my hair was very slow (which further explains why she felt the need to cut my services short) and seemed quite new. She did not smile and seemed not to like her job (or to be having a less than great day). The blow-out itself was maybe a 6.5 on a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being the best). When I was checking out, no one asked me if I was happy with my experience and/or my hair. If I had paid full price for my appointment, I would likely have later called the manager and asked for my money back. Takeaway: I will continue to drive the extra 30 minutes to Drybar.
