| - We stopped in to Biscuits Cafe this morning prior to going to a business meeting, and OMG were we ever highly disappointed. For starters, their coffee is awful.....watered down (weak) and not worth buying. Moving right along, I ordered the short stack of 3 blueberry pancakes. Strike two: the pancake batter has sweet cream and vanilla in it, which results in a sickening sweet pancake. I don't know why, but the consistency was NOT light and fluffy, but chewy and not worth eating. The FEW blueberries were itsy-bitsy, and not fresh tasting at all. Our waitress was wonderfully understanding, and offered to replace the pancakes with a waffle instead. Well, sometimes you just can't win. For $8.00, I fully expected an awesome waffle. This was average size and about as wonderful as a previously frozen waffle that got popped in the toaster oven for a bit. My partner ordered the Eggs Benedict with Smoked Brisket, with the side of Hash Browns. The eggs yolks were way overdone, the mystery meat (or brisket) was dry and lifeless, and the hash browns were just plain lousy. We paid our bill and vowed to cross this restaurant off the list. BTW, for an AWESOME breakfast go to Butterfields Pancake House on Shea (Scottsdale). Fabulous pancakes, HUGE fresh blueberries, fresh squeezed OJ, wonderful coffee, great prices!
