| - Love this place! We started taking little man there when we had some bad experiences with the Dog Stop (see my review on the Yelp page). This place is definitely smaller, and I have to call ahead to make sure there are two employees there when I drop off the little guy (one stays with the dogs while one opens the gate, to keep everything copasetic). It is also kinda pricy - $20 for four hours, then $30 for the entire day, with a $20 minimum.
HOWEVER, for that price, I get constant attention to my dog (several employees for the dogs keep them happy and busy all day), a controlled environment (no more bites on my little guy from aggressive dogs), and one-on-one walks with the employees throughout the day (at least 3 on a normal all-day sitting session). I also have the owner's cell phone number ("call night or day") and, most importantly for me, I have a dog that has NOT gotten sick once during the entire time I've taken him there. That's so important to me, since last summer my guy had kennel cough, pneumonia, and bacterial dermatitis within a few weeks of each other every time he went to the Dog Stop, costing me over $600 and making me feel pitiful for my sick dog. Much happier now and much more trusting of this place.
My only complaint (and why I give four stars) is that sometimes the manager there can be a bit prickly. She told me to "take the dog in during the morning, because the pack forms in the morning," and that I need to have a regular schedule of bringing him in. Unfortunately, that's not always possible for me and my schedule, though I do give it my best shot. However, she can be as prickly as she wants if my dog ends up being as exhausted, healthy, and happy every day as he is when he gets day care at King of Pet Care.
